Designer driven by purpose, creating bold, memorable designs that help brands stand out through Novelity.
When I first got to varsity, I had no clear direction. I chose Journalism and Media Studies simply because I had the marks to get in, not because I knew where I was headed. Looking back, that uncertain step turned out to be one of the best decisions I’ve made.
Through that course, I found purpose. I was introduced to communication design, and that’s where everything changed. It helped me focus my creative interests and opened doors I never knew existed. There were times I questioned if design was really for me, but whenever I imagined doing anything else, nothing felt right.
Even though some paths felt right, design felt righter. I believe it suits my personality. I’ve never been the one who wants to be in the spotlight. I’d rather be the person behind the scenes, shaping how things look, feel, and communicate. Design allows me to do exactly that — to make an impact without needing to be at the front.
It gives me the space to think, create, and contribute in ways that feel natural to who I am. That’s why I continue to choose design, every single day.
I hold a Bachelor of Journalism and Media Studies with a specialisation in Communication Design. That qualification gave me more than just technical knowledge, it gave me a foundation in critical thinking, storytelling, and how to communicate with purpose.
Today, I run Novelity, a design-driven studio where I help startups, creatives, and small businesses bring their ideas to life through:
Web Design & Development, Graphic Design, Branding & Identity
